Vladimir Abramovich Etush was raised by his mother after his father was arrested during the Soviet era. He had three marriages, first to Ninel Myshkova, then to Nina Krainova, and finally to Elena Gorbunova, with whom he was married until his death. He was of Russian Jewish descent and had a daughter named Raisa Etush.
Career
Etush graduated from the Shchukin Theatrical School in 1945 and became a member of the Vakhtangov Theatre’s troupe, where he performed alongside many notable actors. He became famous for his comedic role as Comrade Saakhov in “Kidnapping, Caucasian Style” in 1967. Throughout his career, he was also the rector of the Shchukin Theatrical School.
