Robert Goulet was born on November 26, 1933, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to French-Canadian parents. He began singing at a young age and pursued a music education through a scholarship to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Goulet was married three times; his first wife was Louise Longmore, with whom he had a daughter named Nicolette. He later married Carol Lawrence and had two sons, Christopher and Michael, before marrying Vera Goulet in 1982.

Goulet rose to fame with his role as Lancelot in the Broadway musical “Camelot” in 1960.
