Rick Burks was an American actor who is best known for Blood Diner and The Underachievers.
Personal and Family Life
Born in Oakland, California, Rick was raised in Auburn and graduated from Placer High School. His father, Donald, is a retired officer from the California Highway Patrol and now lives near Yosemite National Park with his second wife and children. Rick had one sister, Lori, and three half-sisters, Jessica and Suzi, along with a half-brother named Jonathan. Jessica is currently a cadet at the US Military Academy at West Point, while Suzi and Jonathan attend public schools in Central California. Lori resides in Northern California.
Career and Interests
Rick’s first passion was music, and he formed several local bands as a talented lead guitarist and songwriter. Although he acted in films, he didn’t view it as a career but rather as a way to earn some income. At the time of his tragic car accident, he lived with his close friend, producer Jimmy Maslon, in Hollywood.
Death and Legacy
Rick Burks died on February 19, 1989, in a road accident in Los Angeles. The driver of the car, a so-called friend, was under the influence and fled the scene after crashing, leaving Rick behind. This tragic incident also severely injured another passenger in the vehicle. His untimely death left a significant impact on his family and friends.
