Lee Fierro was born on February 13, 1929, in New York City. She had two marriages, first to Marvin Stephens, with whom she had four children, and later to Bernard Fierro, with whom she had one child. Lee was active in the performing arts community in Martha’s Vineyard, where she ran a children’s theatre workshop for many years.

Fierro is best remembered for her impactful performance as Mrs. Kintner in Jaws, famously confronting police chief Martin Brody after the tragic death of her son. After the film, she continued her passion for theater by operating the Island Theatre Workshop alongside her friend Mary Payne.
