Buddy Red Bow was born on June 26, 1948, in Red Shirt, South Dakota, and belonged to the Oglala Lakota tribe. He had three children: a daughter named Tammy, and two others, Richard Todd and Autumn Rose. As a child, he experienced a challenging upbringing, spending time in Pine Ridge Jail with his mother. He was taken in by Peter Two Bulls, Sr. and his wife, who raised him alongside their own family and instilled in him a love for horses.
Career
In addition to acting, Buddy was known for his musical talents and was the second musician inducted into the Native American Music Hall of Fame. He made significant contributions to Western films as a technical advisor, leveraging his understanding of horse riding to teach others how to portray Native American culture authentically.
